On a scale of 1-10, pain levels may be around 1-4 on average. There are different factors that may affect your pain level; your personal pain tolerance, the treated are of the scalp, the condition and physical make up of your skin and anxiety about the procedure. SMP treatment uses a dotting technique which is much less painful than a traditional tattoo. The needle used t place pigment is extremely fine and small. Most of our clients report that SMP is not painful though it may be uncomfortable at times. No pain medication is needed, and any discomfort is only during the treatment.

Your hairline design Is a very personal choice. At Mizk Brows & SMP, we will map and draw a hairline that best suits your features before each session. The artist will work closely with you to ensure you are happy with the outline before starting your treatment. You will decide whether you want a soft & natural or sharp & define hairline. A pigment blend is customized to match your existing hair to create a natural blend and lay the foundation for the following sessions. We customize our shade to match a wide variety of skin tones.

SMP is not a one treatment process. For optimal results, clients are required 3-4 sessions to complete your treatment depending on the extent of your hair loss. Each session is at least 2 weeks apart.

Your first session will take the longest which is between 2-4 hours long. This includes signing of the waiver, overview of the procedure and discussion of any lingering questions you may have before the treatment. Your 2^nd,3^rd and 4^th (if needed) is gradually building the density /and blend into the existing hair which creates the most natural result which is typically about 2 hour or less.

SMP results last 5+ years and is semi-permanent. You can get a touch up once every couple of years to keep it looking fresh and will last longer.

If there is significant amount of hair loss, it is highly recommended that clients keep a short shaved haircut for natural looking result. However, some clients can maintain a longer head of hair with SMP for density fill or thinning areas.
